Crispi, Enjoy the Outdoors

Founded n the early 70s by Alessandro Marcolin on the binomial quality and technology, nowadays Crispi Sport (Maser, Treviso) is one of the most qualified in the outdoor field. From this philosophy, the company creates soft boots made of first choice leather, with shock absorbing areas in the midsoles, to improve absorption of heel micro-shocks due to the gait and padded cuffs. 1975 is “Crispi Legend” birthday , the brand known, ever since, by “connoisseurs” for its top quality. Today, after 35 years, CRISPI is still loyal to this philosophy and produces high quality footwear. Crispi nowadays caters for a market of “specialists”, because it concentrates on producing niche items, to better exploit the technology and know-how acquired over the years. Hence, the diverse Crispi ranges: TELEMARK, of which Crispi is the world champion; ALTA MONTAGNA, and TREKKING which makes available to all mountain and outdoors lovers the experience and technology acquired in all these diverse sectors. From over 35 years, this successful binomial made the company become a world leather in all of its production niches, without any dazzling slogans or big promises- simply driven by a passion for quality footwear and the courage to put on the line the results it obtained in order to achieve constant improvement, model after model.
Note: interesting the model Enigma for SKI TOURING for a total weight of 950 gr! http://www.flickr.com/photos/59348268@N07/5448878716/

Lomer Boots, Love Your Feet

Grande Grimpe, Customized Mountaineering Clothing

Grande Grimpe is the brand created 15 years ago by the MA.S.MODE in Nembro, a small village in the beginning of Val Seriana, close to Bergamo. MA.S.MODE is an artisan-family owned company. The small size of the activity allows the production of customized tecnica clothing to suit the needs of customers. The attention to detail is their main focus. The customization is diversified, so directly in their lab, you can see an idea becoming a project and finally a product. As the same company emphasizes: ‘Grande Grimpe is true warranty because It is not just a piece of paper but a real production company with a great advantage: the price'. That because it sells without intermediaries, directly from the manufacturer to the customer. Many mountaineering expeditions - in recent years - have used their clothings, from the first experiences of Simone Moro in Himalaya to the latest exploits of Silvio Mondinelli. Among the most interesting technical jackets for mountaineering  there are the Alaska model (WindTex microcordura 3 layers) -with the coordinated pant - and the softshell Trango. The production also involves: base layers, mid layers, gloves and various pants. Waiting for a short test in the coming future, you should visit their web site.

ItalBastoni Dls Foam Long Carbon: Wooden Roots With Carbon Flavour

ItalBastoni is a 'young' - 47 years old - company, founded in 1964 as a manufacturer of wooden sticks for hiking. Over the years, the company has specialized in the production of aluminum and composite poles for trekking, skiing, climbing and, recently, Nordic walking.
The company is located in Taio, a small village in the splendid Val di Non in Trentino, close to Brenta Dolomites and few kilometers from Ortles-Cevedale Group. Thanks to its perfect location, Perenthaler family - owners of the company – can find everything useful to improve and leverage its products. Today, I talk to you about one of the top product for advanced trekking (not only): the DLS Foam Long Carbon, a lightweight telescopic pole suitable for every season. Characterized by a long handle foam, the DLS Long Carbon is made up of 3 parts in aluminum&carbon and it stands out for its innovative locking/adjustment system for set up the length of the pole, called DLS: both simple and easy - even at low temperatures with gloves - to be quickly and safely adjusted. The grip, as mentioned, is anatomical and the grip zone covers almost the entire first section of the pole: very handy for crossing sloped terrain. The leash is adjustable and made with neoprene padding. Finally, numerous are the accessories and the available customizations.

Once Upon a Time...the wooden stick

Once upon a time (and sometime still is) there was the wooden stick. Trusted mate in many trekking. Today technology has revolutionized this tool, now: lighter, durable and - above all - easy to store in your backpack. Next week I will let you discover an interesting company from Dolomites that makes these - now essential - tools...
