Nordsen, Gateway to Adventure

Nordsen is the outdoor brand of Brugi. Since 1956 the company from Verona has been producing sportswear collections for the whole family and for people who enjoy to compete. The company philosophy puts first the capacity to offer the best technical and creative solutions to dress in a comfortable and practical way. The market offer is articulated with the brands AST & Astrolabio (ski, fitness and bike), Nordsen (trekking and mountaineering), together with Brugi itself, and it satisfies different styles and activities of dynamic people, the more and more oriented toward concreteness.
This is the result of strict selection of materials, versatility of productions and the capability of being able to anticipate the trends; fundamental parameters around which rotate the ideas and strategies with which Brugi challenges the market.
A concrete benchmark for people who want to experience their sportive aspirations following the rules of pure substance and technical essence. The Nordsen wear, complete in its offer directed to the outdoor line with shells, soft shell, fleece, jerseys, pants and underwear, prefers high-tech contents focusing on the performances required from people who want fitting and dynamic garments, like a second skin.   DryFast, Softech, ComfortTech and DryTech are the most used textile technologies.

48.10 NTS, New Brand Long History

Here I am again to talk about a very interesting brand: 48.10 NTS. Since 1984, Punto Azzurro (Rovetta, Bergamo) produces sportswear for some of the most important brands in the sportswear industry. During over twenty years, the company has focused in the production of technical clothing, adapting to the demands of the market and specializing in cloths for skiing with taped and welded seams, using the highest performing fabrics. With the acquisition of the 48.10 mark - strongly focused on snow sports - it has gone a step further in quality.
The technical characteristics and the ultra- attention to detail of the brand (the height of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in the Alps and Europe is 4810 meters) has been highly appreciated by the most demanding skiers. With the new outdoor line "4 seasons" has started a new path with products dedicated to trekking, hiking and all outdoor sports. Karpos, Outdoor Clothing by Sportful

I pantaloni termici Shift e l'intimo Pavione.

The story began in 1946, when the Cremonese family opened a knitwear factory named Manifattura Valcismon, in Fonzaso (Belluno). The real turning point came in 1972, when Dr. Giordano Cremonese, who had taken over the management of the business from his parents, wanted to participate in the newly established Marcialonga cross-country ski race but did not have appropriate clothing. He decided to use the family business to produce the necessary apparel and what had begun as a personal need grew into an unprecedented success. This was the beginning of the Sportful brand. In 1998, after having achieved a dominant position in the Italian cross-country ski market, the company decided to expand its presence in foreign markets. Sportful is currently the official apparel supplier for the prestigious Finnish national team. With regard to cycling apparel, our greatest achievement came in 2002, when the Italian national team began to wear Sportful apparel. Our satisfaction increased when Mario Cipollini won the World Championships in Zolder shortly thereafter. Other successes followed this victory, including Paolo Bettini's Olympic gold at Athens and World Championship in 2006 at Salzburg, in June 2011 at Giro d'Italia with Alberto Contador we saw the Sportful jersey once again on the podium, once again victorious, once again the symbol of Italian cycling.
During the last years, Sportful has created a new brand for outdoor activities by levereging its experience in the other sports: Karpos. A complete range of products for trekking and mountaineering, from jackets to pants, from fleece to base-layers: high-quality materials with a great design. Interesting as the technical jacket Cerro Torre in Gore-Tex and Dolomiti windstopper. As well as tech-pants Shift and base-layers Pavione. Note: in Fonzaso, inside the company headquarter, there is the official outlet.

Grande Grimpe, Customized Mountaineering Clothing

Grande Grimpe is the brand created 15 years ago by the MA.S.MODE in Nembro, a small village in the beginning of Val Seriana, close to Bergamo. MA.S.MODE is an artisan-family owned company. The small size of the activity allows the production of customized tecnica clothing to suit the needs of customers. The attention to detail is their main focus. The customization is diversified, so directly in their lab, you can see an idea becoming a project and finally a product. As the same company emphasizes: ‘Grande Grimpe is true warranty because It is not just a piece of paper but a real production company with a great advantage: the price'. That because it sells without intermediaries, directly from the manufacturer to the customer. Many mountaineering expeditions - in recent years - have used their clothings, from the first experiences of Simone Moro in Himalaya to the latest exploits of Silvio Mondinelli. Among the most interesting technical jackets for mountaineering  there are the Alaska model (WindTex microcordura 3 layers) -with the coordinated pant - and the softshell Trango. The production also involves: base layers, mid layers, gloves and various pants. Waiting for a short test in the coming future, you should visit their web site.

Expedition 2000, Alpin Down Jacket by Tecno Piumini

All'esterno un robusto Rip-Stop 85 Tec WR in nylon impermeabile.
Tre i colori disponibili: nero, blu e rosso.

And it is here that Tecno Piumini, a brand of Azienda Piumino Orobico founded in 1987, produces sports clothing in pure goose down. Technical clothes worn in numerous expeditions from Andes to Himalaya by mountaineers likes Mario Merelli, Simone La Terra, Cristina Piolini and Lina Quesada.
I will talk to you about the Expedition 2000  jacket, perfect for summer mountaineering in the Alps (over 4000 meters) due to its technical characteristics and the extreme light weight: 500 grams in all!
In addition there are two other models: Expedition 5000 (Andes) and Expedition 8000 (Himalayas). As we wrote a few days ago, not for all people summer means only high temperatures. This is especially true for those who delight climbing four thousand meter summits. Nevertheless, this activity has a lot of difficulties too often overlooked – not only technical. For example the weather that could change quickly like severe fall in temperature.
In these cases, if you bring with you the Expedition 2000 jacket it can be useful, if not vital! Composed of 100% pure goose down extra flake, it is ideal for outside temperatures down to -15 ° celsius. The lining is a breathable Soft Micro TF Technology and it allows retaining the body heat. Outside a robust Rip-Stop 85 WR Tec nylon fully waterproof.
The jacket, using a special big inner pocket, can be easily folded in a bag of '25 x 20' cm. Expedition 2000 is on sale in the company official web store for only 235 euros, great price, isn't it? Colors available: red, blue and black.
